Mention and Data

3. Once selected one The information display page will be adjusted according to the selection.

Due to the large amount of available online data, it isn’t possible to predict how much data will be gathered or to know whether the system has collected all the data. If a campaign is set to Active, the system will continuously gather and analyze mentions for the campaign. We  recommend the following:

1. Check whether the amount of data gathered is sufficient for analysis or not.

2. Set the campaign to Inactive so that the system will stop collecting mentions.

To view data by time frame:
- Click on the Data Time Frame menu
- Select the date you want to view the data, then click Apply
(if you want to view the historical data, make sure the campaign date is set up to collect historical data first.)

Because of the vast amount of information online, the system can't guarantee that the mentions of specific channels will be stored. If you wish to monitor a channel, this can be solved using the Focus Channel function. This function will prioritize that channel’s data in the system.

To recover deleted data:
-Go to Mentions Console and open the Advance Mentions Filter
-Go down to Deleted Mention (bottom of page), select ‘Yes’ and click ‘Search’. Only the deleted Mentions will be displayed.

-Now click ‘Undelete’ in the Published Date column.

To view only deleted mentions:
-Go to Mentions Console and open the Advance Mentions Filter
-Go down to Deleted Mention (bottom of page), select ‘Yes’ and click ‘Search’

The system will then only show the deleted Mentions.

If you find a mention that you’d like to delete, simply click the red ‘delete’ (trash can) icon.

You can filter the search results to view the post comment as follows:

1) Go to the Social Analytics page.

2) Then go to the Mention Analyzer on the menu.

3) Select the Channel Comment option.

There can be multiple reasons as to why the system may fail to show enough, or shows less data, such as:

a) The user has set a historical time frame that their package doesn’t support. Another reason could be that there are still no mentions on the web that references the keyword.

b) The data for the broad/popular keywords are easier to gather and hence load, whereas it might take the system longer to load the data for the specific keyword. For example, the data for broad keywords like “chicken wings” will load faster when compared to the specific keyword, “plant-based chicken wing”, as the latter is a less popular term on the web.

c) Once the user creates a campaign, it might take the system 3-6 hours or less to gather and load data.

A mention is any time that a brand, a person, or any chosen keyword is used in a post, comment, or other online content. For example, if we choose to collect mentions of the keyword ‘burger’, this Youtube post is considered a Mention, because the video’s caption includes the word ‘burger’.
